Young Couple Hanged Themselves Together to Avoid Forced Marriage in India

Young couple was found hanging in an embrace from a tree in Sakdaha village, near Krishnagar, Nadia district, India. The two apparently committed suicide together because they were in love, but the family of the girl had pre-arranged marriage plans for her.

The two were identified as 16 year old Anju Biswas and 22 year old Sabuj Biswas. They both seem to have the same last names – inbreeding? Love knows no limits!

On the day of Bijaya Dashami, the couple apparently went through the process of marrying each other as Sabuj applied vermilion on Anju’s forehead, and then hanged themselves while holding onto each other.
